Marshall-Tomales

A quiet, natural oasis.

Welcome to Marshall-Tomales

A quiet, natural oasis

Marshall-Tomales is an area within Marin County, CA. The town of Marshall runs along the Tomales shore and is just six miles south of the village of Tomales. Together, these small, rustic communities make up Marshall-Tomales.

Both of these areas have small populations, and life here is largely centered around the bay. They are known for their wide swaths of land and glistening bits of the coast. The bay allows for easily accessible water sports and activities, while the natural terrain is ideal for hiking.

The price of real estate in these areas ranges from $1.5-$3 million. With so much land and such sweeping views, it’s no wonder prices are competitive. In such a small community, you’re guaranteed privacy and serenity.

Dining, Shopping, & Entertainment

If you’re not already a seafood fan, you will be shortly after coming to Marshall-Tomales. Marshall-Tomales does seafood in a rustic, sustainable way.

One of the best places to stay and eat in this area is Nick’s Cove. Nick supplies quaint bungalows on stilts right in the bay. Wake up in the morning, take in the view, and then get ready to swim, kayak, bike, and more. The restaurant, also on the bay, offers award-winning sustainable food with a beautiful backdrop.

Another staple of this community is The Marshall Store. It may look like a tiny shack, but it’s serving up big flavor. Try their oysters (of course) or their fish sandwiches. The main game in town for oysters is Hog Island Oysters. Try their hand-raised oysters at the restaurant, or order some for delivery. For a relaxed vibe, head to Tony’s Seafood. Get your fix of BBQ oysters and crab on their lovely patio.

There are historic ranches within the park, as well as the Tule Elk Preserve.
